Short answer
| Material | Clasp | Suits | From us |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tyvek | Self-adhesive tab with security cuts | A one-day event | Not offered at the moment |
| Vinyl | Snap button, single-use | Clubs, staff, press, multi-day events | 250 × 16 mm, 29 band colours, one-colour print |
| Woven (polyester) | Plastic clasp with barbs, single-use | Festivals, VIP, equestrian events, corporate events | 350 × 15 mm, full colour edge to edge |
All three are single-use. Once the clasp is closed, the band can only be taken off by cutting it.
Tyvek: for one day
Tyvek is DuPont's brand name for a material made of fine polyethylene fibres (HDPE). It feels like paper but is hard to tear and does not let water through.
The bands close with a self-adhesive tab. Cuts in the tab make the band tear if someone tries to peel it off. Tyvek is made for one day, not a festival week.
We do not sell Tyvek wristbands at the moment. For one night at a club, a vinyl band does the job, and it copes with water and sweat if the night runs long.
Vinyl: clubs and staff
The vinyl wristband is an L-shaped band of soft vinyl with a snap button. The button locks once. To take the band off, it has to be cut. It measures 250 × 16 mm, adjusts to the wrist and copes with water, sweat and several days of wear.
It is screen printed in one colour. You choose the band colour from the manufacturer's range of 29 colours and one of 10 print colours. That makes vinyl the simple choice when every role or night needs its own colour: PRESS in neon yellow, STAFF in red, VIP in black with gold print.
The first print is included; each additional print costs €39. The same print on several band colours costs nothing extra.
Woven: festivals and brand
The woven wristband is a woven band of satin polyester, 350 × 15 mm, cut to fit the wrist. It is dye-sublimation printed in full colour edge to edge, so a ready-made design, your own artwork and logos in colour cost nothing extra. The knob on the clasp is black or white.
The clasp is plastic with barbs. The band can be pulled tighter through the clasp but not loosened. It is soft against the skin, which you notice when it has to stay on for several days. How the materials cope with rain and heat is in the guide to rain and heat.
The first design is included; each additional design costs €29. Each day or zone can have its own design, colour or artwork. Read more in the guide to designing festival wristbands.
How to choose
- Nightclub: vinyl, one colour per night or per category (entry, VIP, staff).
- Festival: woven for the tickets (day pass, weekend pass, VIP), vinyl for staff, stewards and press. One order, one delivery.
- Equestrian and sports events: woven with one design or colour per competition day and the main sponsor's logo, vinyl for officials and volunteers.
- Corporate event: woven in your brand identity, with logo and colours matching your other print.
- One-day event with simple needs: vinyl. We do not sell Tyvek.
The volume price is worked out on all variants of the same band type together. Five vinyl colours of 200 pcs each get the unit price for 1,000 pcs, and if they share the same print, the colours cost nothing extra.
Questions and answers
Which event wristband is cheapest?+
Vinyl, per band. At 1,000 pcs vinyl costs €0.22 each and woven €0.27 each, excl. VAT. The first print is included for both.
Can the bands be reused?+
No. Both the snap button on the vinyl band and the plastic clasp on the woven band are single-use. The band comes off by cutting.
Do you sell Tyvek wristbands?+
Not at the moment. For one-day events we recommend vinyl, which copes with water and sweat and closes with a single-use snap button.
Can we order both vinyl and woven?+
Yes, in the same order. The volume price is worked out for each band type separately, on all its variants together.
